MK1 @ The Ruby Lounge Friday (Feb 1st)

X Factor fans take note: MK1 will be hitting up Cork’s newest gay venue, The Ruby Lounge, tomorrow night (Feb 1)!

The hip-hop pair of Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Rundle and Simeon ‘Sim’ Dixon, are one of the first urban acts to make it to the live shows on the popular reality TV series, The X-Factor.
They first bounced onto TV screens in August 2012 and have since been celebrated for their unique style and urban sound. By fusing traditional dubstep with mainstream production, MK1 stay true to the roots of dubstep whilst still appealing to mass audiences with a high-energy show that is sure to get all toes tapping.
MK1 will be the third X-Factor 2012 contestants, following on from Rylan Clarke and Lucy Spraggan, to play in the Ruby Lounge since its relaunch in December.
Friday will be a night of fantastic surprises for all of those in attendance. Not only will guests get to dance the night away to MK1, there will also be promotions and giveaways. Some lucky MK1 ticket holders will win themselves tickets to the X-Factor Live Tour taking place in Dublin’s O2 Arena in February. All guests at this event will be given priority access to tickets for next month’s gig, along with exclusive Ruby Lounge drinks offers.
Manager of the Ruby Lounge, Dermot Hickey said: “When we launched The Ruby Lounge recently, we wanted a venue for everybody - homosexual, heterosexual and all in between. We are going to keep bringing excellent acts to Cork like MK1 and create a venue where people can go for great music, competitions and atmosphere.”
MK1 will be supported by Cork band Grenade, with their lively mix of coves and original work. Grenade have a fast growing fan base following their great success supporting Rylan Clarke last month in The Ruby Lounge, and playing the Cork Christmas Market in December.
Tickets available from eventmaster.ie , with remaining tickets available on the door. This event is strictly over 18’s only.
Following their performance the duo will be on hand to meet and greet their fans and share autographs and pictures.
